Happy Thanksgiving to all of you out here! Try to enjoy the day...Have fun with your family, and friends. Eat some yummy food. Watch some good TV or read a good book. Personally, I'm not a big fan of a lot of traditional Thanksgiving day food. I do like Pumpkin Pie. If you are health conscious, try taking some cooked sweet potato, and mashing it with a little butter, sugar, and cinnamon (you can also use an artificial sweetener and a fake butter spray to get even fewer calories, but I'm not a big fan of the artificial junk in my food)....Presto: you have yourself a great side of healthy sweet potatoes that taste like Pumpkin Pie.

I added a new picture of a plastic "Owl Rattle" from the late 1960's...This item sold for around $30 (which seems to be a normal price range for lots of vintage Halloween toys).
I did some shopping in Chelsea, Michigan this past weekend, and went into a couple of nice shops in the area. I met a couple of very kind people who love Halloween (and sell items that are both vintage/antique and re-productions and cool collectibles). The bad news was seeing that it is past Halloween, all the Halloween stuff is packed away until next year. On the bright side, this will give me a couple of cool stores to blog about featuring frightful wares for next year.
More news and pics to come...Stay tuned!
You never know what you are going to find at various shops, auction sites, gargae sales, or other places when searching for your vintage Halloween treasures. I recently found this "Weeny Witch Party Book".... The name had me cracking up a bit. It was actually a pretty cool little book, filled with great Halloween graphics.
I added a couple of new pictures to the Miscellaneous Toys section....A cool Devil head candy container from the late 1960's/early 1970's and a 1970's Skull Sparkler. Both these items sold for around $30 each.
I went to a antique/junk shop today called "The Treasure Mart" in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They had a sign up "All Halloween items 50% Off"...I did not see anything worth noting.
Stay tuned....More news and pics to come from your favorite Old School Halloween toy collecting site!
I hope you all had a great Halloween this year. The best part of having Halloween end, is all the bargains at the stores with clearance items. You can pick up some real great deals. In addition to this, vintage Halloween toy prices fall dramatically from November through the winter months, so even though there may not be as many items available, you are probably going to find some great deals out there (unless you come across an item that is very rare, and in that case the time of year will not affect the value).
More pics and updates to come.
